Guidance & PSE

At Portlethen Academy we have 5 Houses each led by a Principal Teacher of Guidance and a Depute Head Teacher. Each House has a Pupil Leadership Team, made up of S4-6 pupils and have 2 House Captains, 2 Vice Captains and 1 Sports Captain as well as their Precects.

Each Principal Teacher of Guidance is responsible for ensuring the wellbeing of each young person and following the principles underpinned by Aberdeenshire GIRFEC policy whilst they are at school. Every young person is supported with both their transition to Academy from primary as well as through the Academy years and beyond. We work closely with colleagues from Skills Development Scotland and have a great working relationship with Jennifer Johnston our in-school Careers Advisor.
