At Portlethen Academy, our 6 Aspects Learning, Teaching & Assessment framework was developed in partnership with staff, pupils and parents/carers. Staff worked together to agree what high-quality learning, teaching and assessment look like in our classrooms. Pupils then shared their views through the Pupil Action Group, helping to shape a pupil-friendly version of the framework that focuses on taking responsibility for learning. Parent and carer focus groups completed the process by exploring how learning can be supported at home. By working together and using a shared language, 6 Aspects helps ensure a consistent, positive learning experience for all members of our school community.
The full presentation of the 6 Aspects, showing all three responsibilities (teachers, pupils, parents/carers), then showing the shared responsibilities per individual Aspect can be seen here:

HOME LEARNING SUPPORT
The following document has been created to give additional support for learning at home. It has some strategies for parents/carers and pupils to help create good routines for learning at home.
Each Faculty has a detailed Curriculum Map that outlines subject content, key assessments and skills developed, for all topics covered across, S1, S2, and S3. To see the more detailed versions, please find them in the individual Faculty pages. This is a summary of topics however, for each discrete subject. Whilst there may be some slight changes as to when in a term or session the topics are covered, for the most part, it is correct. Because it is such a large document, it is best viewed on full screen or downloaded here.
